America’s First Earth-Orbiting Astronaut John Glenn Opposes Administration’s New NASA

Our apologies for not catching this sooner, but it now appears, as reported in the Chicago Tribune in Astronauts fear loss of innovation, leadership with no spaceflight, that John Glenn, our nation’s first astronaut to orbit the earth, and former Senator, opposes the Obama Administration’s plans to end NASA’s human space flight program.

It’s unbelievable to me that we’re willing to lay that lead down in a very uncertain world.John Glenn, a former astronaut and U.S. senator.

So it seems that, other than Ed Mitchell and Buzz Aldrin, astronauts former and current oppose the Administration’s idea for a “new” direction for NASA.
