Images taken at the launch pad yesterday with the Atlas-V that will launch MUOS-1 into orbit.  After being scrubbed by bad weather twice last week the vehicle is ready to try again today at 5:15 p.m. EST.  The weather forecast calls for a 80% chance of favorable conditions at liftoff – a cold front is expected to pass through the area this evening.  Weather chances remain at 80% odds of acceptable conditions for a Saturday attempt.  MUOS-1 is the first in a series of satellites that will dramatically improve communications to U.S. forces on the move worldwide, providing the military with 10 times more communications capability over existing systems.
