Obama’s Space Conference in Kennedy Area

2008 Obama Space Speech

As reported by Amy Klamper of Space News in, Obamas Space Conference to Take Place in Kennedy Area, NASA Deputy Administrator Garver stated today that the President will be coming to the Kennedy Space Center area for his April 15th summit.

According to the Deputy Administrator, the space community should be excited about the April 15 event. Naturally, everyone on the Space Coast is anxious to hear from the President when the nation’s human space flight program ends.

“For a very long time … we’ve been talking about having the president actually lead an effort where I think stakeholders in the community work together and talk about our future in space. You don’t do major shifts without feeling strongly about it, and the president feels strongly enough about it to personally participate in a public way.”

As an aside, if you’re going to stay on the Space Coast, the ultimate hotel is the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront.

And just another reminder, don’t forget to brush-up on the President Space Speech given in Titusville in August of 2008 when he was a candidate dtermined to win Florida in 2008. The video link follows.
