Kennedy Space Center Gets Googled

In February of this year the Google 360 team quietly paid a visit to Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in ‘stealth mode’.  When asked by AmericaSpace about their visit to KSC the team stated that they were just visiting the Cape and that they were there to view a cket launch. Six months later NASA announced that for its 50th anniversary celebration it will be opening its gates for ‘virtual tours’ through a partnership with Google Maps.

With over 6,000 panoramic images of the space center a viewer is only a click away to see the Apollo/Saturn V Center, Space Shuttle Main Engine Processing Facilty, Orbiter Processing Facilities, the Launch Control Center and the iconic Vehicle Assembly Building. This is Google’s largest special collection of street view imagery to date. The entire collection of images also is available in the Google Street View gallery at http://www.google.com/streetview
