NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity has beamed back New Year’s well-wishes from its dusty vantage point on the surface of the Red Planet. Curiosity arrived on Mars in August and has spent the past few months learning more about whether or not Mars could have once supported life. Curiosity is on a two-year, nuclear-powered mission which began in November of 2011 when the Mini Coopersized rover thundered off of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 41 atop an Atlas rocket.

  1. NASA accomplished this feat of engineering genius with only 0.48% of one cent of every federal tax dollar. Imagine what could be done with one whole penny.

  2. Karol: Yes, indeed – it’s chump change to maintain our leadership in space exploration! Pennies spent can motivate a new generation of children to become future scientists, engineers and explorers.

  3. certainly like your website however you need to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very troublesome to tell the truth however I’ll surely come back again.
