Generally Speaking: Astronaut Thomas P. Stafford breaks from training to participate in a photo session at the Kennedy Space Center in April 1969. Stafford, John Young, and Gene Cernan flew to the Moon in May 1969 and paved the way for Apollo 11’s historic lunar touchdown on July 20, 1969.
