Saturn Sunrise: This was the early morning scene as the Saturn V for the Apollo 9 mission was rolled out to Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center on Jan. 3, 1969. Astronauts Jim McDivitt, Dave Scott, and Rusty Schweickart were launched on a 10-day mission exactly two months later on March 3, 1969. The Apollo 9 mission was highlighted by the first manned use of the Lunar Module and first Apollo EVA (Schweickart).
