The Meridiani Journal is a chronicle of planetary exploration, both in our own solar system and beyond; the name is derived from the desert plains of Meridiani Planum on Mars, where the Opportunity rover landed in 2004, finding the first on-site evidence for past liquid water. Many other discoveries, such as the geysers of Enceladus, the subsurface ocean of Europa, the methane rivers, lakes and seas of Titan and the growing number of exoplanets found orbiting other stars make this an exciting time of exploration and discovery.

TMJ is published by Paul Scott Anderson, a freelance space writer with a life-long passion for space exploration and astronomy. He currently writes for AmericaSpace, and Examiner.com His own blog The Meridiani Journal is a chronicle of planetary exploration. Click here to visit: The Meridiani Journal
