One worker at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) gets an unexpected attitude from a “colleague”—a Robonaut—on a seemingly average work day. Currently four Robonauts exist, with others in development. These robots will help humans explore, work, and live in space. One is currently aboard the International Space […]
These images from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft show how the pull of the planet affects the amount of material ejected by geysers on Saturn’s moon Enceladus. It turns out that the moon launches more spray when it is farther away from Saturn. Image Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/University of Arizona/Cornell/SSI
Saturn’s 314-mile-wide icy moon Enceladus has been teasing […]

WASHINGTON — NASA Tuesday issued a Request for Information (RFI) that will help agency officials better understand current plans in the U.S. commercial space industry for a robotic lunar landing capability. The RFI will assist NASA in assessing U.S. industry’s interest in partnerships to develop a robotic lander that could enable commercial and agency missions.

For decades, Jupiter’s moon Europa has been the focus of fascination and debate. Why? Because it has a global ocean—a deep, salty ocean similar to those on Earth, except that in Europa’s case it is always covered by a […]
