The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (9/15) announced “that the team from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga., has won first prize in the AIAA Foundation’s annual Undergraduate Team Space Design Competition.” Competitors had “to design a space weather monitoring constellation of nanostats or cubesats to monitor the space weather environment around the second Lagrange point of the Earth–Sun system (L2), to provide environmental data for future space missions around the L2 region.”
