Well, so much for trying to lighten the mood by referencing Armey’s interview on “Parker Spitzer” in which he states that NASA is not a target of the Tea Party (quite the opposite, it seems), now back to the harsh realities. According the a post in Parabolic Arc by Doug Messier titled Space Workers Laid Off as NASA Picks New Direction, Winds Down Shuttle Program, it seems that somewhere north of 2,800 NASA contractors lost their jobs last week. This is on top of the thousands that have already lost their jobs. And while most job losses are due to the end of the Shuttle program, a good number are due to the uncertainty about Constellation.
