A Beechcraft 1900D turboprop aircraft operated by Buddha Air crashed Sunday while attempting a landing near Katmandu, Nepal. The aircraft had been carrying tourists to view Mount Everest and was returning following its one-hour “mountain flight” according to the AP, and all 19 people on board were killed. Two Americans were on board the flight and were identified as Andrew Wade and Natalie Neilan.

Foggy conditions contributed to low visibility, and witnesses claim seeing the aircraft come in contact with the roof of a house in the Bisankunarayan village, causing it to break into multiple pieces. In addition to the fog, it is reported to have also been raining during the time of the crash. An official investigation into the crash has been ordered by the government.
