The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation will host its Fall Auction of Astronaut Memorabilia starting at 9 a.m. (EDT) Friday, Aug. 16, 2013. There will be some 34 lots with a wide range of unique space-flown items which have been signed by the men and women who were involved with those missions.

Some of the sweet swag that is available includes: a NASA lunar index map that has been signed by 10 Apollo astronauts, including Jim Lovell and Buzz Aldrin; a command module heat shield plug that orbited Earth for 84 days on Skylab 4; and a genuine SPACEHAB strap buckle that flew on Space Shuttle Endeavor during the 2007 STS-118 mission.

These are just a few of the items that the ASF highlighted in a release. Every era of manned spaceflight will be represented by flown artifacts as well as other astronaut-signed items. The auction lasts through 9 p.m. EDT Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. Winning bids are considered charitable donations, as proceeds are being raised to benefit the ASF which raises funds to provide scholarships for students seeking careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). The ASF was founded by the Mercury 7 astronauts and has so far raised an estimated $3.7 million for students.

For those wanting to partake in the bidding awesomeness, check out the catalog and register for a “virtual paddle” here: ASF Auction
