The skies above the nation’s capital will rumble with the sounds of NASA’s sleek T-38 Talon jets this week. The space agency, in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will conduct training and photographic flights on Thursday, April 5, over the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Currently, NASA is planning on using two of the aircraft to conduct flights approximately 1,500 feet above the city between 9:30 and 11 a.m. EDT. If weather or technical problems cause the flights to be delayed, they will be rescheduled and NASA will release an advisory as to when the rescheduled flights will take place.
