Want to know what it is like to rove on the Moon in the lunar rover concept developed under Project Constellation? Would you like to experience being at America’s lunar outpost in the 2020’s? Well, there’s an app for that.

Check out iRover, a cool iPhone app by the folks responsible for the 3D simulations of Constellation. You can buy iRover on the iTunes AppStore.

Unfortunately, since the White House is trying to terminate Project Constellation, it may not be until sometime in the late 2030’s, according to NASA Administrator Bolden, that anyone other than the Chinese will reach the Moon. So this app is as close as we will get to actually being on the Moon and seeing the flags that the Apollo astronauts raised 70 years earlier.

If you would like to be a part of trying to get to the Moon sooner, please check out these Facebook groups:

We would like to thank NasaWatch for the head’s up on this.
