Constellation Preservation Act Filed

On Thursday, March 24, 2010 Senator George LeMieux of Florida filed Senate Bill 3180, Constellation Preservation Act along with 6 co-sponsors. The Constellation Preservation Act would do four things,

Reiterates the legal prohibition in already in place prohibiting the cancellation of Constellation Systems Program contracts.
Waives Anti-Deficiency Act provisions being used as justification by NASA for announcing changes and cancellations of certain programs associated with the Constellation Systems Program.
Requires the Comptroller General to conduct an investigation into the current contracts to evaluate any waste, fraud and abuse in any of the existing contracts.
Requires the Administration to take necessary steps to ensure the successful launch of all remaining Shuttle flights.
